I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t writing something or the other and finished my first “novel” at the age of eight (five pages, which my mother still has and threatens to sell to the National Enquirer when I make the NYT bestseller list). I have the usual collection of adolescent bad poetry and purple prose, much of which has thankfully disappeared — though I recently unearthed the first romance novel I completed.
Born in Texas, I currently hail from Los Angeles, the land of film noir and demon karaoke bars, which suits my love of old movies just fine, and provides a constant source of inspiration. Like many writers, I’m working to find a balance between the 9 to 5, my family and my craft, which ain’t always easy.
November 2005 saw my first sale with the short story “Here’s Looking at You” in the anthology Romance Unwrapped from Linden Bay Romance. While I have generally focused on historical fiction, the story was a contemporary paranormal, and that genre is what demands my attention at the moment, with the first book of a trilogy currently in process.
Of course, that’s not to say something shiny and new won’t come along to catch my attention at any moment…
